With Autodesk Inventor software, we can create digital prototypes of large, complex mechanical assemblies. Inventor software includes Design Accelerator features and tools for building entire mechanical assemblies. The user can be sure that all parts and components fit together. Precise collision analysis and physical parameters allow you to create high-quality products from the very first try. Inventor provides tools for the control and data management of large mechanical assembly designs. The user can only work on those components that require it.
Autodesk Inventor combines fabrication information – such as hole tool parameters and custom bend tables – with detailed 3D models of folded plates. Manufacturing engineers can also use the environment to create flat unfolds to customize them to minimize manufacturing costs.
In the program, we can generate engineering and production documentation based on digital prototypes, allowing us to reduce the number of errors and create a design in a shorter time. By extending the capabilities of AutoCAD software, Inventor optimizes the creation of digital manufacturing documentation with automatic generation of drawing views and powerful drawing finishing tools. With support for all major drawing standards, automatic drawing updates, and DWG output, Autodesk Inventor offers excellent data creation and sharing capabilities.
The program offers visualization tools that allow you to quickly create photorealistic renderings and animations that will better visualize the design concepts of the management, make it easier for contractors to understand the assumptions of the project, and convince customers that the chosen solution will best meet their needs.
By modeling in Autodesk Inventor, we have three different modeling methods available.
– parametric modelling consists in entering parameters and dimensions of 3D objects, rounds and chamfers during sketching
– direct modelling that allows you to move, rotate or scale elements without the need to find the right sketches for their geometries
– Free Form Modeling is where you most often start creating a basic shape – such as a cube, cylinder, sphere or plane – and freely move points, edges and sides to freely shape your design.
The innovative AnyCAD technology relies on the use of designs created in other CAD programs while maintaining their references to the latest updated versions of non-native files (from foreign formats). This ensures that you can work with the latest designs of parts or subassemblies without the need to translate these files. With an associated link to the source file, Inventor will automatically update the design in the event of any change.
Creating workshop documentation has never been so easy. Several functions allow you to quickly generate views, projections, and cross-sections of an element with dimensions and descriptions. The user can modify the dimensions in the flat documentation in order to change the geometry of the 3D model.
Design Accelerator is a set of tools that enable component generation based on engineering calculations. In the program, we can create bolted connections automatically, generate frames with their simultaneous analysis, and generate drive-transmitting components (shafts, cylindrical gears, chain drives, bearings) and springs.
The module enables the designed piping systems of machines and devices. The user has at his disposal an extensive library of standard parts for pipes, elbows, couplings, tees, etc. Based on the selected style, you can automatically create rigid routes for pipes with couplings, pipes with bends or hoses.
Autodesk Vault data management software is a centralized application included with Autodesk Inventor that allows teams to securely store and manage design data and related documentation. Design teams can track and manage all components of a digital prototype. As a result, they re-use relevant design data, manage BOMs, and can rely on prior collaboration with production teams and customers.
