Automatic Check-In of Modified Drawings
The new Automatically Check In Modified Drawings option streamlines the process of checking in updated drawings in multiple workflows:
- Excel import via Data Manager: After importing data from an Excel sheet, all modified drawings are automatically checked in to the server.
- Ortho drawing updates: After generating orthographic drawings in a shared project, updated files are automatically uploaded to the cloud.
- Audit Project: The function checks in all modified drawings after the project audit, ensuring that all changes are immediately visible to the team.
This feature significantly improves collaboration and eliminates the risk of outdated drawings being left unsynced in the cloud.
Audit Project Database
A new option called Audit Project Database has been added to the Audit Project dialog. It allows deeper validation and maintenance of the project’s database.
- The standard audit checks only DWG files.
- The new option enables consistency checks at the database level, helping identify issues not tied to individual DWGs but to underlying relationships.
Activating this option helps prevent errors during team collaboration and data reporting, especially in shared environments.
Cloud Synchronization of Report Files
A new system variable, PLANTSYNCREPORTS, supports the synchronization of report files via the cloud. Here’s how it works:
- Place report files in a “ReportFiles” folder inside your local project cache.
- Once the project setup is checked in, the system synchronizes those files to the cloud.
- Other users receive the updated report files when opening the project or using “Refresh from Project.”
This ensures everyone is working with the latest templates and reports — no manual file transfers required.
Connected Support Files
The new Connected Support Files feature allows teams to share a unified set of support files (fonts, plot styles, templates) across the cloud-based project. It works as follows:
- Support files stored on Autodesk Docs are automatically linked and shared with all project users.
- Each user opening the project gains access to the correct support files without needing to install fonts or manually copy .CTB/.STB files.
This feature streamlines integration with other Autodesk tools and provides a consistent working environment regardless of who accesses the project.
