New options have been added to the Project Setup window to make it easier to customize basic project information. You can now change the name of an existing project directly from the configuration panel – simply expand the General Settings section and edit the project name field in Project Details.
Additionally, Project Setup now allows you to edit the project’s symbol style (Project Symbol Style) without manually editing template files. This enables a consistent P&ID symbol appearance across the entire project with a single click.
Selection List management has become more flexible. It’s now possible to create shared selection lists for both P&ID and 3D classes. The new list is simultaneously available for corresponding objects in the P&ID schematic and 3D model.
Shared lists eliminate discrepancies between schematic and model data – every change to the list automatically updates in both places, improving project consistency.
A new feature enables exporting selection lists to Excel and re-importing them after modifications. You can export a single list or all project selection lists to a spreadsheet, edit the values, and import them back into the project.
This saves time on bulk edits, such as adding new valve types to property lists. Plant 3D checks data validity during import, preventing list corruption.
The Project Backup feature has a modern interface and enhanced functionality. The new dialog allows you to specify a target location for the backup files before creation. Once the process finishes, you can immediately verify the saved files.
In shared projects, Plant 3D warns users if others are editing data, preventing loss of unsaved changes. The new interface is more transparent and improves backup management.
The Audit Project function in Plant 3D 2026 includes a new dialog and extended capabilities. It shows all project elements (P&ID, 3D model, isometrics, orthographics) along with their status.
Users can launch the audit process with a single Audit button, and progress or issues are logged to a report file. Audit integration with cloud collaboration ensures greater data consistency.
Version 2026 fixes known user-reported issues, including errors related to data export to Excel. Reporting project data to spreadsheets is now reliable, regardless of component name length.
These fixes eliminate frustrations previously faced by designers and make working with project data more efficient and stable.
Project managers using AutoCAD Plant 3D 2026 will appreciate the ability to quickly modify project settings and the new backup and audit features, which ensure data integrity. The new features streamline workflows and reduce the risk of errors.
